Gagnon Family History — Home page and blog

A Gagnon Family History is a historical look at how the Marcel Gagnon and Louisa Remillard family came to be, tracing the ancestral migration from France to Yakima.

Update Oct 6, 2016

The first edition of “A Gagnon Family History” is now complete!   The previous version was preliminary and copies should be discarded. Further updates will be corrections.  This first edition is identified by “2016” found in the lower left of each page.

An errata page will be created to show pending changes for the next edition.  I’ve already found a number of mistakes!

Included is Appendix A which is the full family tree as I have researched it.  Its 53 pages contains 45 ancestor (“pedigree”) charts, notes, “maps” of the charts, and a list of ancestor names.

Both the story and the appendix can be downloaded from the files page. These are in PDF file format.

An HTML version for online viewing is available here.

  1. In the preliminary History I stated the Remillards had an ancestral connection to Robert Drouin. This in is error.

The common early ancestor to both families is still immigrant Jean Gagnon whose son, Germain, is the ancestor to Louisa Remillard.

    1. Hello Michelle,
I belong to a group of researchers and one of the researchers are searching for a copy of the obituary for Neal Francis Gagnon. By chance, would you have a copy that you can share? If so, please send to mmorrison0308@gmail.com
